Nature has been a life-long source of inspiration for my creativity and sense of peace. Whenever I absorb beauty seen in nature, it gives me a sense of gratitude to be a part of it. I cannot resist thinking: If God created the earth with such intense beauty, what will heaven look like? My objective was to capture the beauty of “mother earth” from its very core composed of intensely hot matter to the wide spectrum of colors on its surface. Terra is rich in colors and meaning. -
Early March 2020, during the difficult days of the first lockdown [Covid-19 pandemic] in Greece, I was deeply craving the colors and mood of spring and wished for both to enter my home instantly. In those moments and mood, this painting was born!! Prior to the lockdown period, I had been carefully studying the impressionistic styles of many notable artists. With the inspiration to paint colorful impressions combined with the mood of confinement, this was my attempt to usher in spring to my home, and I even managed to overcome my fear of painting on the large canvas. -
