My love for the sea is obvious to those who know me, however, I also dearly admire the sights and serenity of the mountains. My ancestral region in Greece, called Epirus, is situated on the mainland directly across from Corfu, more specifically in a small mountain village called Lias. It is here at this mountainous village that I have very beautiful childhood memories of spending time with my grandparents in conjunction with our seaside holidays on Corfu. The clear, fresh air high above the sea and the majestic nobility of the mountain peaks near my family’s village in Epirus is what I have attempted to capture on these two canvases.
